NEWS from the first half term:
Post 16 students attended a team building residential at Walesby on 14th & 15th September. Students participated in raft building, crate stacking, problem solving, building a camp fire, orienteering and wall climbing during the two days.
Creative Media -
- Cameron Whiley is embarking on a 20 date UK tour starting this month.
- Sharna Greatbatch and Vicky Ross have set up a management company called Bloodsucker Management. Gimme Stiches, Shoot the Poets and Ruckes are all performing at The Maze on 25th October @ 7.30pm.
- A picture of the Nottingham Eye taken by Victoria Ross appeared in the Nottingham Evening Post.
- Loretta Brown (The Voice Within) will perform her first solo gig at Bonington Theatre on Saturday 24th October 7.30pm.
BTEC Sport -
The Year 12 BTEC Sport group attended a Sport Awareness Day at Nottingham University on 6th October. The group participated in a tour of the sports facilities, an introduction to basic health measurements of the body such as VO2 measurements, body callipers, blood pressure and weight/height. They also took part in some competitive physical activity sessions.
Society, Health and Development -
Year 12 students visited Nottingham Magistrates Court and were involved in a question and answer session with two Magistrates. Students also spent a day at QMC involved in a variety of different activities including work with a hi-fidelity mannequin, hand hygiene exercises and a visit to the Clinical Skills Centre. Students had the opportunity to meet final year medical students and had a tour of the QMC.
The Post 16 centre is run by Nicola Davis and Heather Kinton.
