Pupils Speak Out

Year 7 students represented NUSA at the termly Educational Improvement Partnership (EIP) Pupil Council meeting on Wednesday 19th March. The students were joined by representatives from NUSA’s network of local primary schools, which included Melbury, Firbeck, Brocklewood, Portland and Djanogly Strelley.

The main item on the agenda was the Bilborough Community Newsletter, which pupils have supported by producing articles and photos for the last edition. The group were introduced to Maggie Burrows and student Holly from Bilborough College who are seeking articles for the next edition.

In the latter stages of the meeting NUSA pupils became interviewees as the local primary school children questioned them on their experiences of the academy. These interviews will be written up and included in the next newsletter. Further articles to be included in the newsletter include stories relating to local Scout & Brownie packs; Sport Relief; Macmillan fundraiser  the EIP Basketball competition/players and a record-breaking bid at Djanogly Strelley.
