The Academy Day

Notes on the Academy Day

• Pupils must attend from 08:50 to 15:20 daily.
• The dining room will be open before the day for breakfast for staff and students.
• Staff briefing will take place in the staffroom at 8.30 am each day.
• Food will be available in the dining room at break.
• The Academy has a split lunchbreak, immediately after period 4.
• 12:40 – Curie and Pasteur pupils and staff go to lunch. Fleming and Lister will be in mentoring groups or in House assemblies during this time. 
• 13.05 – the 10 minute crossover time starts.
• 13:15 – Fleming and Lister pupils and staff go to lunch. Curie and Pasteur will be in mentoring groups or in House assemblies during this time.
• All students will wear house identification to avoid confusion during the lunch period.
• At the end of period 6 there will be a 10 minute break before the extended day starts.

• Years 11 and Post 16 will go straight down to lunch, down A block corridor, and the queue for Years 7-10 will be outside A Block against the wall and new fence.
• There will be an in/out queue for the dining area. Students will go in and come out through the main doors - the fire door in the dining area will be not be used unless there is an emergency or medical necessity.

• The Assembly rota will be organised by Heads of House. If students are going to a House assembly they will go to mentoring rooms first and then be escorted to the Hall along the left-hand side of A Block corridor by their mentors. At the end of assembly mentors will escort their mentees outside to start queuing for lunch.
• It is important that students go to their mentoring groups before they are taken down to assembly.
