Dear Parents/Carers,

At NUSA this week:
This week has seen the nominations for student council reps at NUSA. We were so incredibly proud of the students exercising their right to vote in a democratic way. Our new student council members will be ready to start their work after October half term. We held a non-school uniform day for fundraising for our Prom Committee today. Students were really supportive of Year 11 and their fundraising efforts. A big ‘Thank you’ to you all as parents/carers as well. A huge ‘Thank you’ for all of your support this half term.

Coming up at NUSA:

We return to school on Monday 31st October at the normal time. We will run our ‘Swap Shop’ again for rewards in the next half term. I will give advance notice of the dates in the weekly letter as students may return home a little later than normal if they are collecting rewards. Year 11 will start a two week mock period on their return on Monday 31st October. We wish them the very best of luck!

Attendance: A reminder that where a child is absent from school, we will continue to ring home everyday for the duration of their absence.

Safeguarding corner: We have had a number of concerns from people in our community about students using electric scooters on the roads after school hours. Please remember that whilst it is legal to purchase an electric scooter, currently electric scooters can only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission. It is effectively illegal to use them on public roads, on pavements, in cycle lanes and in pedestrian-only areas. Please ensure that you discuss the use of an electric scooter with your child to ensure they know what they should/shouldn’t do.
