NUSA HPV Year 8 Information

It is now time for your child’s HPV (Human Papillomavirus Vaccine)!

This vaccine is offfered to all young people in: Year 8

 

This vaccine is part of the Childhood Immunisation Programme.

Following the success of the HPV programme and how effective the vaccine has been, the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation have made the decision to change to a one dose programme from 1st September 2023.

This includes all young people who have already commenced the HPV programme prior to 1st September 2023. Having the HPV vaccine helps protect both boys and girls from Human Papillomavirus related cancers.

What do you need to do? It is important every child has a completed form which states if you would like them to receive the vaccination or not. The online consent form can be found through this link  https://www.nottinghamshireimmunisations.co.uk/Forms/HPV School code: NG135761

Online consent will close at 3.00pm on 13 th June 2023.

If you decide you want to withdraw consent you must email sais@nottshc.nhs.uk at least 24 hours before your schools session.

Please Note If we do not receive a completed form, your son / daughter will be given the opportunity to self-consent.

The decision to have the vaccination is legally your son / daughter’s as long as they understand the reasons for the vaccination and the issues in giving consent, however, the nurse would much rather have your permission too.
